Community Courts: Homeless Court

Homeless Court was established in 2006 as a partnership between theCity of Houston Municipal Court, the Coalition for the Homeless ofHouston, and local homeless service providers. This program assistshomeless individuals to resolve outstanding misdemeanor offenses andwarrants through various alternative resolution options in lieu ofpayment including community service and participation in approvedservice program activities such as chemical dependency meetings,computer literacy classes, and job skills training. Participants voluntarilysign up for Homeless Court by requesting the service from a localhomeless service provider.
