Adopt-an-Esplanade Program

The Adopt-an-Esplanade Program invites management districts, civic and HOA groups, local businesses, and community organizations to help beautify Houston by adopting nearby roadway medians—also known as esplanades. By adopting an esplanade, groups help keep these shared green spaces clean, welcoming, and well-maintained.

Adopting an esplanade means:
  • De-littering
  • Mowing
  • Edging and trimming
  • General upkeep of the adopted area

After 6 months, groups may apply to add irrigation and landscaping. After one successful year, adopters become eligible for recognition signage honoring the group’s hard work.

Cost: The program is free of charge.
