Disaster Recovery Mitigation Hub

The City of Houston receives Community Development Block Grant Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) funding to support long-term projects that reduce risks from future disasters and strengthen community resilience. Through ongoing planning and coordination, the Housing and Community Development Department identifies local and regional mitigation priorities and outlines how these funds may be used in alignment with federal requirements. CDBG-MIT funds are designed for long-term mitigation efforts and cannot be used for emergency response services. Funded projects focus on lasting improvements that help protect residents, neighborhoods, and critical infrastructure from future disaster impacts.
