Dustin Hodges Dustin Hodges
Chief of Staff

Dustin graduated from Texas Tech University in 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology. In 2018, he graduated from the George Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M University with his Master's degree in Public Service and Administration. Before pursuing his Master's degree, Dustin spent nearly 5 years working for his hometown of Bay City as the City's Public Information Officer and Chief of Staff to the Mayor. During his time with City of Bay City he served as Education Chair of the Matagorda Local Emergency Planning Committee, Chairman of the City's Charter Review Commission, and was an active member of the Bay City Lions Club. After graduating with his Masters, Dustin and his wife, Meghan, moved to Houston to start their family. He enjoys trips to the park with his dog Finley, road tripping around Texas and exploring all the great things Houston has to offer.

Demari Perez Demari Perez
Deputy Chief of Staff

Demari Perez is a bilingual, fourth-generation Houstonian of Mexican and Cuban heritage, raised in Houston, Texas. She began her work with the District E office as an intern in early 2023 through the University of Houston–City of Houston Internship Program and was brought on full-time shortly after. She currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff for Houston City Council District E, supporting operations, constituent services, and community initiatives across the Lake Houston area.

She earned her Associate of Arts from Lone Star College and continued her studies at the University of Houston, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Communications. In addition to her work in public service, Demari has over five years of experience in digital marketing. She enjoys traveling, music, and staying engaged in public policy.

Sloan Sweeney Sloan Sweeney
South Sector Manager

Sloan Sweeney is a native Houstonian with deep roots in the Clear Lake Area. Her journey led her to graduate from the University of Houston in 2020, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition. During her time at the University of Houston, Sloan worked for the Cougar football team as an Athletic Trainer. Before joining our team, Sloan honed her skills and passion for community engagement while working for the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. Sloan's background and professional experience have equipped her to make meaningful contributions to her community. Sloan spiritedly anticipates utilizing her knowledge for the southern portion of District E to ensure cohesion, safety, and improvements for the community.

Yucari RamirezYucari Ramirez
Executive Assistant
Yucari Ramirez is a dedicated public service advocate and a current resident of District E in Houston. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston – Downtown, where she laid the foundation for her passion for community service and civic engagement. Yucari’s professional journey began as an intern with the Houston Police Department's Public Affairs office, where she developed a deep interest in public service. She then advanced her career by working at both the Houston Emergency Center (911) and the City of Houston’s 311 call center, where she gained invaluable experience in emergency response and constituent services. Before taking on her current role, Yucari served as the Director of Constituent Services in District C, where she worked closely with the community to address residents’ needs and concerns. With a strong commitment to improving public safety and the overall quality of life for Houstonians, Yucari Ramirez continues to make a meaningful impact in the public service sector.

Anneliese CookAnneliese Cook
Office Intern
Anneliese Cook is a recent graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and a Certificate in International Business. During her studies, she completed an exchange program at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, where she explored global economic and social issues that deepened her interest in public service and community development.

A lifelong resident of District E in Kingwood, Texas, Anneliese is committed to strengthening connections between local government and the community. Before joining District E as a Council Intern, she served as Public Relations and Website Coordinator for MSC Freshman Leadership International at Texas A&M University. In this role, she promoted cultural awareness and led digital media initiatives to engage the university community. Anneliese looks forward to supporting the District E office in addressing constituent concerns and contributing to the City of Houston’s mission of responsive and effective public service.
