Short-Term Rentals: Approved Hotel Employee Human Trafficking Training Programs
** All training must be provided from a vendor on the pre-approved list that is Attachment A to this policy. If you are interested in seeing a training program added to the pre-approved list, please submit a request for review to info@humantraffickinghouston.org.
1. ECPAT- USA Training*(Preferred Program) - “Preventing & Responding to Human Trafficking and the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children - an E-Learning by ECPAT-USA” found at https://www.wearepact.org/
- We know that the ECPAT training (that AHLA, Marriott International and Polaris helped formulate) is also rebranded for use by hotel chains. If hotel chains can demonstrate that it is the same and has a pacing mechanism, this will be added to the pre-approved list.
- Hilton Training – ECPAT-USA’s “Your Role in Preventing Human Trafficking: Recognize the Signs,” Rebranded for use by Hilton’s Managed and Franchised Hotels.
- Red Roof Inn – Sourced from ECPAT.org and DHS.gov
- Marriott - ECPAT-USA’s “Your Role in Preventing Human Trafficking: Recognize the Signs,” Rebranded for use by Marriott.

3. United Against Human Trafficking - UAHT.org – Offers live, in-person training. Can be set up via their webpage https://uaht.org or by calling 713-874-0290.
4. BEST’s - BEST’s Inhospitable to Human Trafficking Course - An online training option is available for free for individuals in English and Spanish: https://www.bestalliance.org/hospitality. Other options for employers include group trainings, course customization, completion reports, live trainings, Q&A sessions, train-the-trainer services, and more. Please reach out to info@bestalliance.org for more information.
