March 31, 2026 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman found at 2831 Laura Koppe Road about 1:50 p.m. on March 30.

The identity of the female victim, 50, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Finlay and B. Stephens reported:

Houston Fire Department personnel found the unresponsive female inside an apartment after responding to a person down call. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

HPD patrol officers learned neighbors heard gunshots around 9 p.m. on March 29 and saw a male, believed to be the victim's boyfriend, leaving the apartment alone.

At this time, investigators would like to speak with the male described as a dark-skinned black male, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a stocky build and short hair.
