March 02, 2026 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 800 Eastex Freeway (North Interstate Highway 59) about 4 a.m. on Sunday (March 1).

The identity of the deceased male, 24, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer M. Matthews reported:

A black Infiniti QX60 was traveling northbound at the above address when the driver left the roadway and struck the concrete barrier. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.

No other vehicles or persons were involved in the crash.

The investigation is continuing.
