March 02, 2026 - Houston police are investigating the fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 8500 Beechnut Drive about 8:50 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 28).

The victim is identified as Martha Carrillo, 67.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Barrow and Officer C. Moralez reported:

The driver of a silver or gray truck was traveling eastbound at the above address when the driver entered the intersection on a red light and struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk and the front end of a white BMW X40. 

The driver of the truck failed to stop to render aid and continued eastbound on Beechnut.  

Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the female pedestrian deceased at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
