July 28, 2026 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash at 100 North Loop West (State Interstate Highway 610 North) service road about 11:15 a.m. on July 25.

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee, Officer Z. Alikhan and Central Patrol Division officers reported:

A black Honda Pilot was traveling eastbound at the above address when a bicyclist attempted to cross the service road. The Honda struck the bicycle. The bicyclist was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased on July 27.

The driver of the Honda remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, was questioned and released.

The investigation is ongoing.
