February 19, 2026 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a woman found at 7623 Sherman Street about 2 a.m. today.

The identity and cause of death of the woman, 44, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detectives A. Hernandez and K. Aloysius reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a report of an unresponsive female at a residence at the above address. The female was found in a bedroom by a family member. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the woman deceased

The investigation is pending the female's cause of death, to be determined by an autopsy.
