April 14, 2026 - Houston police are releasing surveillance photo of a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 5700 Gessner Road about 8:05 p.m. on Monday (April 13).

The suspect is described only as a black male with locks. He fled the scene in a red Chevrolet Malibu. A photo of the unidentified suspect is attached to this news release.

The identity of the victim, 19, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Robles and A. Herrera reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a business at the above address. They found a man in the parking lot who had suffered more than one gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Investigators learned the male pictured below and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation prior to the shooting.
