April 10, 2026 - Houston police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 9303 Town Park Drive about 6:40 p.m. on October 21, 2025.

The suspect is described as a male wearing a black ski mask and a red t-shirt. The suspect arrived and left the location in a vehicle believed to be a black 2016 Dodge Caravan. Video of the suspect and the suspect's vehicle is attached to this news release.

The victim is identified as Carlos Padilla, 31.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants C. Ponder and J. Gardner reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and located a male with gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Investigators learned the victim entered the apartment complex and was followed by an unknown male suspect who had exited a black van. The suspect ran to the complainant, fired multiple shots and fled the scene.

Further investigation revealed the male suspect exited a 2020 Nissan Altima before entering the van. The video below also shows the victim speaking to an individual(s) in that Nissan and another vehicle, a 2012 Nissan Altima, while the van drives by. The van returns and the suspect runs into the complex, shoots the victim and runs out of the complex.
