November 10, 2025 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 6800 Memorial Drive about 9pm on Friday (Nov. 7).  

The identity of the deceased male, 28, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Barrow and Officer F. Flynn reported:

According to witnesses, the driver of a blue Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Memorial Drive when the driver failed to maintain a single lane.  The vehicle left the roadway and struck several trees before coming to a stop on the walkway.  The male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics.

A passenger was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

The investigation is continuing.
