August 28, 2025 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 8300 West Bellfort about 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday (August 26).

The identity of the deceased male, 52, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives D. Higgs and B. Stephens reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and found a male lying on the ground. He had been shot more than one time and responding Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male wearing a mask, white t-shirt and black shorts. He fled on foot eastbound on W. Bellfort.
