August 26, 2025 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 4000 Watonga Boulevard about 10:15 a.m. today.

The identity of the deceased male, 70, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer J. Leon reported:

A bicyclist was travelling northbound at the above address. A black GMC Denali failed to yield the right of way when exiting a private driveway and struck the bicyclist.

Paramedics transported the male bicyclist to an area hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased.

The male driver of the GMC remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.

The investigation is ongoing.
