August 8, 2025 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash in the 4700 block of Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 3:10 a.m. today.

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer D. Hoang reported:

A male was riding a bicycle on the main lanes of the freeway at the above address when he was struck by a vehicle of unknown make or model. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to provide assistance and fled the scene. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.

At this time there is no known vehicle or suspect description.
