April 7, 2025 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 3900 Galveston Road about 5:10 a.m. today.

The identity of the deceased male, 30, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer R. Saenz reported:

The driver of a black Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on Galveston road at a high rate of speed when he approached a red light at the intersection at Park Place. The driver of the Silverado attempted to swerve to avoid hitting a gray Chevrolet Suburban that was stopped at the red light and ended up clipping the Suburban's side mirror.

The Silverado then ran the red light, left the roadway and struck the culvert and flipped over. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene The driver of the Suburban was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
