December 17, 2024 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 4700 Westheimer Road about 10:25 p.m. on Monday (Dec. 16).

The identity of the deceased male, 67, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer L. Fenoglio reported:

The male was operating a motorized wheelchair and crossing the street - not in a crosswalk - at the above address when he was struck by an unknown white SUV traveling westbound. The driver did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.

Paramedics transported the male to an area hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased.
