Officer Juarez
4/6/2026
Good afternoon. Me and my family have property in the Dogwood, Porter Texas area. I wanted to say that Officer Juarez with the Kingwood station are doing an amazing job. The area is becoming more clean and safe. It's a huge difference from how it was back then. He has been really helpful and kind.
We had a problem with a guy who brought a lot of trash, blocked the road and caused problems in the area and he helped us out with him. Always checking in and updating us.
We are really grateful for Officer Juarez and his team. We can see that area is becoming a way better and cleaner place. I just wanted to say he's doing a great job, one of the best officers I met. Thank you for your time and reading this. Have a blessed day.

Officer Cavazos
4/2/2026
I was in a fatality car accident in an HOV lane on a Friday evening and Office Cavazos was one of the first officers on the scene - he immediately saw how in shock, devastated, and helpless I was. He was calm, compassionate and kept talking to me to help calm me down. Words cannot begin to describe how his caring, compassion and understanding - helping me to breathe through the panic - meant to me. This was one of the worst nights of my life and Officer Cavazos went above and beyond to get me through it.

Officer Juarez
4/2/2026
I am writing to formally express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for Officer Juarez, who has been handling my case.
From the very beginning, Officer Juarez demonstrated a high level of professionalism, compassion, and dedication. He took the initiative to step in as the investigator on my case and made me feel supported and believed during a very difficult and stressful time in my life.
Officer Juarez has been extremely thorough in every aspect of his work. He ensured that all police reports were properly completed, submitted, and followed through, including filing applicable misdemeanor charges. His attention to detail and commitment to doing things correctly has not gone unnoticed.
What stood out to me the most was his ability to clearly explain each step of the process. He consistently took the time to walk me through what was happening, what to expect, and what actions were being taken. This level of communication provided me with reassurance and helped reduce some of the fear and uncertainty I have been experiencing.
Throughout this entire process, Officer Juarez has gone above and beyond his duties. His professionalism, thoroughness, and genuine concern for my safety and well-being have made a significant impact on me.
I truly believe that his work ethic and dedication reflect the highest standards of law enforcement, and I am incredibly grateful that he was the officer assigned to my case.
Please extend my appreciation and recognition for his outstanding service.

Captain Watson, Officer Bryant & Officer Aguilar
3/31/2026
I would like to commend Captain Watson and North Division Officers Bryant and Aguilar for their recent assistance in addressing security concerns relating to the Shepherd Forest Civic Club’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Stonecrest Park on March 28, 2026. Each of these officers demonstrated courtesy and professionalism that reflected well on the Houston Police Department and ensured that the approximately 60+ children and their families enjoyed a safe and fun event. Their attention to duty and community engagement were appreciated by the Civic Club and all of those in attendance.

Officer Wilson
3/20/2026
I am writing to formally express my sincere appreciation and commendation for Detective Wilson regarding his professional assistance and outstanding service in connection with City of Houston involving a stolen check matter.
At the outset of this matter, I was understandably frustrated due to the seriousness of the situation and the uncertainty surrounding the process. Although our initial interaction may not have begun under the best circumstances, Detective Wilson consistently demonstrated patience, professionalism, and a calm demeanor that immediately helped establish confidence and trust.
Throughout the entire process, Detective Wilson remained highly attentive, communicated clearly, and ensured that every concern was addressed appropriately. His willingness to provide guidance, explain each step thoroughly, and maintain consistent follow-up made a significant difference in bringing clarity and reassurance during a stressful time.
What stood out most was his commitment to duty, professionalism under pressure, and his dedication to making sure the matter was handled properly and without unnecessary delay. His responsiveness, courtesy, and follow-through reflected a level of service that deserves recognition.
Detective Wilson’s conduct not only helped move the matter forward smoothly, but also demonstrated the high standards expected of law enforcement professionals. His action reflected integrity, accountability, and genuine concern for resolving the issue correctly.
Please accept this letter as a formal acknowledgment of my appreciation for Detective Wilson’s excellent work, professionalism, and dedication. It is important that his supervisors are aware of the positive impact he made throughout this matter and how pleased I am with the service he provided.

Sgt. Borgstedte
3/19/2026
On March 12, 2026, I found myself in a situation in which I am way too old to handle. I was on Hwy 249 sitting on a flat tire. As luck would have it, I was in the parking lot of the HPD Credit Union.
Sargent Borgstedte, assigned to HPD Helicopter Division approached me and ask if he could help. Sgt. Borgstedte changed my tire for me.

Officer Solano & Officer Barringer
3/13/2026
I would like to formally commend Officer Solano and Officer Barringer for their exceptional service. After we mistakenly attempted to file reports at the wrong precincts, these officers went above and beyond to ensure we were finally connected with the correct department (HPD). Beyond their professional guidance, their empathy and kindness turned a hopeless situation into one where we felt supported and heard. We feel incredibly lucky to have been assisted by such dedicated professionals.

Sgt. Parmar & Det. Alloa
3/13/2026
As the U.S. Country Security Manager, I was assigned to conduct a security advance for the CERAWeek event occurring the week of March 23. We have four executives and many employees attending. Not being familiar with Houston, the local Police Department is a critical source of information. I stopped by the station located adjacent to the GRB and met Sgt. Parmar. Sgt. Parmar patiently listened to me and offered his insight. I also reached out to Detective Augie Alloa, who provided valuable input as well. Both officers offered to be points of contact, which is invaluable. The responsiveness of both officers is remarkable and sets a high precedent.

Officer Garrett
3/10/2026
On February 7th I was shopping at Galleria in Houston. I spotted Officer Garrett performing her duties. Being on holiday from Australia and always seeing news reports about gun crime in the U.S I approached the officer to ascertain how safe the area was.
She was professional, courteous and knowledgeable and answered all my questions.
Her public relations were outstanding, and I wish to thank her for making my family feel very safe.
-M.S.
Officer Goodwin
3/9/2026
Det. Goodwin was the exact right person to handle this case. He was diligent in his task to get the finished product to the DA. Every query sent garnered a prompt, informative, professional and thoughtful response from him. The attention given to our case was undivided, though I trust his workload made him work for that. Praise is all I have for this officer. And in this case, the bad guy is facing a judge, and we thank God for that. He is a repeat offender, a vandalizer and low-class criminal who preys on the elderly. We are hopeful he will spend a good long time behind bars. It isn't lost on us the volume/work load detectives are tasked with in the Houston area. We are very blessed and grateful that Detective Goodwin tasked himself to see this through to completion.

Officer Rodriguez
3/9/2026
I was shopping at Joe V’s Grocery Store when I accidentally left my phone in my shopping cart. When I returned to the store to retrieve it, the store manager informed me that camera footage showed an individual taking my phone from the cart. Officer Rodriguez responded and immediately took the situation seriously. She reviewed the surveillance footage, obtained the suspects license plate number, identified the registered address, and took the necessary steps to follow up. Because of her diligence, persistence, and professionalism, she was able to recover my phone. I am incredibly grateful for her dedication and thoroughness. What could have easily been dismissed as a minor theft was handled with care and determination. Her commitment to serving the community truly reflects the highest standards of the department. She made a stressful situation much easier, and I am deeply thankful for her efforts.

Officer Dorton
3/4/2026
Hello, we went to the Rodeo this afternoon with students from our alternative school's ACCESS (life skills program). When leaving the rodeo, we had an unexpected delay on retrieving the bus. If you can imagine having 7 high needs students waiting in the hot sun with nothing to do. The students were tired and grumpy. During that time, Officer Dorton approached our group and began interacting with the students. What could have been a very difficult 45 minutes turned into something incredibly positive. He spent time answering their questions, handing out stickers, and engaging with them in a way that was patient, respectful, and genuinely kind. The students Loved the attention.
His willingness to take the time to connect with our students made a tremendous difference. Our staff deeply appreciated his compassion and professionalism. Please extend our sincere thanks and recognition to Officer Dorton for going above and beyond

Our son inadvertently initiated multiple 911 calls while attempting to access our secured mobile devices, culminating in a dispatch response today. I am profoundly impressed by the professionalism and training exhibited by the responding officers. Firstly, the Houston Police Department's Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and 911 dispatch effectively recorded and analyzed the recurring data, accurately identifying this as a potentially high-risk scenario, especially given the numerous accidental dials and my husband's missed callback today. Secondly, all responding officers demonstrated exceptional training in handling domestic situations; they established direct eye contact to confirm safety, assessed the situation with composure and analytical precision, and acted swiftly. The lead female officer, equipped with a pink iPhone, was particularly outstanding. She astutely recognized that our son has special needs (he is autistic, and she inquired about his well-being), clearly discerning that despite his playful, half-dressed demeanor and talk of monsters, the situation was safe and the calls were accidental, even when he humorously exclaimed, "Help me, Houston Police, there is a monster under the couch." (I was quite embarrassed.) This incident could have served as a cautionary tale, but instead, it stands as a prime example of effective peace officer conduct and community safety. We commend the Houston Police Department.

Officer Williams
2/28/2026
I am writing to commend Officer Williams for his outstanding service and professionalism.
During an extremely difficult time in my life involving an emotionally abusive relationship that ultimately resulted in two felony charges, Officer Williams provided exceptional support and guidance. From the beginning, he handled my case with urgency, compassion, and a high level of professionalism that made a significant difference in my experience.
Officer Williams worked promptly and efficiently, ensuring that my case was taken seriously and progressed without unnecessary delay. Throughout the process, he remained kind, respectful, and attentive, always taking the time to explain what was happening and to make sure I felt heard and supported.
His dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for those he serves are truly commendable. He is an impressive officer and a tremendous asset to the community as a whole.
I am deeply grateful for his assistance and wanted to share my appreciation in hopes that his hard work and commitment are recognized.

Officer Rodriguez
2/26/2026
My daughter's car was parked on Alabama. A black Honda Accord hit her car and left the scene.
Officer Rodriguez was spectacular in his attention to detail, courtesy and giving of information. He even parked his patrol car with the lights on so that the AAA driver could safely change the tire and we could get the vehicle to a body shop.
Officer Rodriquez made the difference between the situation being overwhelming and frightening in the dark in an unknown neighborhood versus feeling like my daughter and I were safe and could handle things.
-L.G.
Officer Cox
2/23/2026
Officer Cox arrived to assist with a very scary circumstance involving what ended up being a stolen vehicle. Officer Cox was professional and kind. He made sure the area was safe. Even though the vehicle had not yet been reported stolen Office Cox made an effort to contact the owner. He reviewed the videos from the cameras at my home. Office Cox showed incredible professionalism in how he handled this situation. Because of his professionalism it made me, my wife, and my children, and my neighbors feel safer because of him.

Officer Rivera, Officer Thompson-Martin, Officer Shaffer, Officer Brown, Sgt. Thorndyke, & Sgt. Schmidt
2/14/2026
Six officers were called to my parents’ home as my brother was having a psychotic episode. All the officers performed with the utmost professionalism and care, ensuring everyone on the scene was safe. When approaching my brother, in spite of his adversarial and angry demeanor, they were calm and actually stepped in to protect me from him with the utmost care. Even as my brother was shouting obscenities at them, after he was detained, they continued to say that they were here for him - trying to support him in his mental illness. This day could have turned out so tragic, but because of their actions, he is now safe in a hospital. I couldn't feel more elated at their actions, and their care for myself and my family (especially my brother) during this difficult time. They are truly Kingwood's finest! Thank you!
-M.K.
Officer Moore
2/12/2026
Officer Moore took a report from one of our executives regarding death threats that were made against him by one of his recently terminated employees. Even though I'm sure this was "routine" to Office Moore and extremely upsetting to our executive, Office Moore treated our executive with such compassion and care, that you would have thought that it was one of her family members who was the victim. And instead of just filing the report and letting a Detective handle it a day or so later, she stayed with the incident, spoke with a Harris County ADA, collected all the evidence and filed charges against the ex-employee which resulted in a warrant being issued for his arrest. If more Officers had the pride and acted like Officer Moore did, the public perception of HPD would be much better !!

Officer Castrejon
2/10/2026
I was in a 3-car collision. I was a passenger. Given the emotional status of the other 5 people, I witnessed a professional officer, first at the collision, Officer Castrejon. She took control of the issues and calmed every one so that she effectively got us passengers taken care of. I was really impressed.
-H.L.
Officer Phan
2/10/2026
Officer Phan was the investigative officer in my incident after we waited a long time at the Westside Police Station. Officer Phan looked into our incident and showed patience and understanding to our complex situation as the other party lied about what had happened to avoid arrest. Officer Phan was diligent in gathering evidence to present to the District Attorney office so that justice can be served and that bad people can't get away with physically hurting others.
-T.S.
Officer Guilloy
2/9/2026
Officer Guilloy was at the scene of an incident within 15 minutes of our call. He was calm, polite, and patiently took our information. He helped us look around the area for belongings the thief might have discarded.
Finding none, we went on our way, but Officer Guilloy managed to retrieve most of my stolen belongings within the next half hour!!
I’m grateful that he noticed my bag when responding to another BMV close by. He called us immediately and we drove back to collect my things.
I’m impressed with his perseverance and very thankful.
Thank you, Houston PD!

This letter concerns my call for assistance on February 2026. The responding officers arrived quickly and handled the situation professionally.
I manage the property on Canal Street, where I rent several rooms. I discovered two intruders inside unit #2, which is vacant and closed. One was a former tenant whom I previously had to evict and permanently ban from the premises. The other individual, is associated with the current tenants, who are themselves in the process of eviction.
House rules allow tenants to have guests, but guests must always be accompanied by the tenant who invited them. They were in unit #2 unaccompanied. I ordered them to leave and went to call 911. One left immediately while the other lingered, behaved erratically, and threatened me before finally exiting. Four squad cars arrived as he was walking away. Officers detained and questioned him. He claimed the current tenancts had invited him, but they did not answer their door, so this could not be confirmed. He was formally trespassed from the property, which I consider an appropriate resolution.
The house on Canal Street has a difficult history. Since taking over in July 2025, my goals have been to remove criminal tenants, stop open drug use, and end the constant traffic. Progress has been challenging, and HPD’s assistance has been essential.
Word is spreading in the neighborhood that Canal Street is no longer a place for drug activity or rule breakers to gather, and I appreciate HPD’s continued support in maintaining order.

I am writing to formally commend a Houston Police Department officer who responded to a mental health crisis involving my adult son in Houston February 2026, on Milam Street, Houston, Texas.
Although I regret that I do not have the officer’s name, I am hopeful this commendation can be routed appropriately using dispatch records.
My son was experiencing an acute psychiatric emergency and had contacted police out of fear and confusion. The responding officer immediately recognized the situation for what it was, a medical and mental health crisis, not a criminal one. His judgment in that moment was extraordinary.
The officer was calm, patient, and compassionate. Most importantly, he chose to stay with my son, ensuring his safety and dignity, and waited with him about 30 minutes until I arrived from out of town. In a moment where the situation could easily have escalated or been mishandled, this officer’s professionalism and humanity made all the difference.
As a mother, I cannot adequately express how much his actions meant to our family. His response protected my son, prevented harm, and allowed us to transition him safely into appropriate medical care. I firmly believe his conduct reflects the very best of the Houston Police Department and deserves formal recognition.
Please extend my deepest gratitude to this officer, and thank you for your commitment to compassionate, well-trained responses to mental health crises in our community.

Officer Lasalle
2/3/2026
My father in law passed away overnight of natural causes. Officer Lasalle was tasked with the HPD response. My wife and I appreciate the professionalism he exhibited, like we've come to expect from HPD members. He knew the process, took care of the details, and was sensitive to the situation. Officer Lasalle is an asset to HPD, as have been all the men and women in HPD uniform I have interacted with. Thank you

Officer Najara, Officer Jumonji, & Officer Nguyen
1/30/2026
Officer Najara, Officer Jumonji and Officer Nguyen are world class law enforcement officers. I am so blessed to have interacted with them. They are professional, thoughtful and understanding in critical situations. They respond to critical situations with an extremely high level of intelligence. Words cannot express how much I appreciate them and we are so fortunate to have them as law enforcement officers in our city. God bless them. I cannot wait for their promotions. Thank you so much.

Officer Ho
1/19/2026
I want to commend Officer Ho. He was helpful in assisting my husband I park for the MLK parade. My mother wanted to go to the parade, and we agreed to take her, but had concerns about parking and having to walk a long distance. We arrived an hour and 15 minutes early and luckily found a place to park on the street in a prime location to walk to the corner. Officer Ho was so kind and helpful and instrumental in helping us park. He even moved his personal vehicle up a few inches for us to parallel park. My mom has been talking about her enjoyment of being able to attend the parade. By the way: My mom is 90 years old. Thanks to officer P. Ho. We thank you sooo much for your act of kindness. I hope this message gets to his supervisor and directly to him.
